It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Harry Joseph Liebergot, who departed this world on July 17th, 2026, at the age of 85, surrounded by his loving family. Born on February 23rd, 1941, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Harry lived a life filled with love, laughter, and melody.

Harry was the cherished son of the late David and Helen Liebergot, and brother to the late Renee Jensen and brother-in-law Martin Jensen. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 62 years, Sharon Arlene (Jacobson) Liebergot, who shared with him a lifetime of memories and adventures. Together, they nurtured a family that stands as a testament to their enduring love.

His legacy continues through his surviving family: his sister Maryanne Lomberg, brother in-law Joel Lomberg, his children Michael Liebergot, Debbi Walters, and Terri Liebergot-Cousins, his sons-in-law Jason Walters and Peter Cousins, and his daughter-in-law Becki Liebergot. Harry was also the proud grandfather to five adoring grandchildren: Dylan Walters, Samantha Cousins, Tyler Walters, Sophia Cousins, and Katie Liebergot, who he was immensely proud of and loved with his whole heart.

Educated in his hometown, Harry graduated from Northeast High School in 1958. His entrepreneurial spirit shone in his earlier years, when he ventured into business ownership, running a Mobile Printing business on Meeting House Road in Jenkintown, Pennsylvania. His passion for knowledge and innovation led him to a distinguished career as an engineer with GE & IBM. Remarkably, Harry became a self-trained Aerospace Engineer with Lockheed Martin; a career lasting over 20 years, taking he and his family to the mountains of Colorado and then to Maryland. Harry retired in 2003 to Florida with his beautiful wife and family.

Harry’s commitment to service extended beyond his professional life, as he served honorably in the United States Army, demonstrating his dedication to his country. Stationed in Germany, Harry served in the US Army from Sept 1958-June 1961. Assigned to the 724th ordinance battalion, its’ mission was to develop anti-tank weapons ie: missiles.

Known affectionately as the “Music Man” and “The Leader of the Band”, Harry’s love for music was as vast as it was inspiring, his home was always filled with melody. He enjoyed nature, animals, and sports, & he loved to dance. Harry was an athlete, participating in track, bowling, baseball, softball, and stickball during his youth & into his senior years. He remained a devoted fan of the Philadelphia Flyers, Eagles, and Phillies.

A service to honor Harry’s life will be held on August 10th at 2:00 PM at Fernhill Memorial Gardens located at 1501 South Kanner Highway, Stuart, FL. Additionally, there will be a Celebration of Life gathering on August 15th @ 1:00 at Montefiore Cemetery 600 Church Rd, Jenkintown, PA 19046. Contact (772) 475-1039 for more information.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Harry’s Celestis Memorial Space Flight “Earth Rise”. This will honor Harry by sending him on a journey into Space, his life-long dream. This Spaceflight will launch from Cape Canaveral in the second quarter of 2027 & will be live streamed for all to share in the joy of his incredible flight!
